Hey all, I just got the first half of my new tattoo done. I'm going back today for the second half. I know normally they would space it out more but I wanted to get it all done in time for it to heal before our beach vacation.
The artist did a great job IMO. It looks really different from my reference art but I think it's badass. The first 3 hours were fine but then the last hour started to hurt a lot. The worst part was after the artist would clean it and it stung, then we had to keep tattooing. But I just figure for the amount of time I get to HAVE the tattoo (forever, duh.) a few hours of stinging is okay. It's a bit sore today but it doesn't hurt.
Here is the first half: (This is a just few hours after so if it it looks a little gross, sorry. I still have blue ink on my shoulder and arms!)

The second half is a mirror of it in red.
I've never had one this big or with color done before. In the yellow parts it was bleeding a bit when I got home. Is that really bad?
Also the artist covered it with Saran wrap and told me to leave it on for 4 hours - but I have read all over the 'net that it's really bad to use saran wrap so I took it off and washed the tattoo with a very mild antibacterial soap. I put A&D on it this morning. On my other tattoos I used "TattooGoo" but I was thinking this time I could probably just use A&D and some lotion, right? The artist didn't recommend anything.
I have two smaller tattoos already, heart on the front of my hip and a skull & bones on my wrist. I want to get more done on the skull at some point to make it more detailed, some color or a pattern in the bones, or a background. Not sure yet.
