I'm from the US east coast  so I've had the opportunity to see  the self-termed "Destructo Rock", crusty, drunk, hillbilly punk band from North Carolina "AntiSeen" several times over the last 15 years.  2008 marks their 25th anniversary.

Here's a pic of lead singer Jeff Clayton after he's gone through his act of smashing beer bottles on his head

Jeff used to be a professional wrestler and he's got all the cool props that freak out the crowd. Antiseen has constantly been linked  to GG Allin but the fatal difference for GG was that he took the self-mutilation serious (and he didn't have any real talent). Despite their appearance, Antiseen isn't about the gimmicks and props, those are just extras for the crowd. They are out to schock people but Antiseen are real decent guys with families and kids and all, despite their threatening appearance. Their use of the confederate flag thing is also for shock value as anybody who really knows the band and their lyrics knows they are tounge-in-cheek.

Anyone who has ever seen Antiseen live (especially if they are a musician) will tell you how unbelievably fucking loud and tight this bands sound is. Their recordings have never captured the full intensity of the band live.  It's the same problem "The Misfits" had, they fucking blew the roof off live but the recordings never really captured the raw power.

On 6/23/95 I was working the soundboard and making a video of  Antieen live at Churchill's Hideaway in Miami  but I handed the camera to my idiot friend when I went to take a leak and he messed up a few of the songs on the video. I was so embarassed because Jeff Clayton asked me to do the video and mail it to him and it took me weeks to get it to him but the freaking cool part was that he took the audio (I ran audio from the board into a submixer that I combined with a few live mics placed strategically in the club and the audio quality came out so damn good that Jeff decided to use it for their live CD titled "One Live Son Of A Bitch..."

I already had several of Antiseen's 7" records (the split with Rancid Vat and  "Masters of the sky" are my favorites) but Jeff sent me like a 200 lb box full of 7" singles, LP's, CD's, T-Shirts, flyers, etc.
