Way back hundred years,i guess there are tattoo artists and people who loves to see designs in their body.It's just that they don't recognize it and called as tattoo.

Thanks for the info.. however, this intrigued me so i did a little research on my own. I read that the first tattooed man first appeared in Green Lantern. His name was Abel Tarrant, a sailor based in Coast City who was was exposed to a bunch of mysterious chemicals. It was later discovered that he used these chemicals to draw shapes on his body such as an axe,  a shield, a cannon, and dragon. Cheesy
